Time to Shed is a self-discovery collection. My sculptural inspiration sparked from my Isamu Noguchi’s Akari lamp. Drawn to the sculptures luminous aura and skin like material, Akari lamp translated to physical weightlessness. As I own a replica that sits quietly in the corner of my bedroom, this connection evolved into a deeper reflection of my thoughts and decision-making process which guided me toward the idea of nature’s process of shedding skin to become it’s most authentic and weightless self.

While this collection is grounded in the physical act of shedding, my concept gradually transformed into a metaphor for internal renewal and growth. Through subtle snake-like patterned fabric, fluid draping, and transformative elements, the collection weaves together a narrative of transformation and introspection. We as individuals we are constantly closing and opening chapters, where Time to Shed, is a literal and figurative reflection of this change.
