A PLACE WHERE SHE CAN REST

A PLACE WHERE SHE CAN REST

AW25

A Place Where She Could Rest is an A/W ready-to-wear collection designed for women aged 18 and over. My garment was inspired by PJ Harvey’s haunting and sensual song The Wind, which tells the tale of St. Catherine—the patron saint of spinsters and women longing for companionship. The juxtaposition between the song’s lyrics, instrumentals and Harvey’s vocal delivery inspired a feeling of solitude, strength, and a balance of masculine and feminine energies. In listening to this song, I envisioned a character: a woman seated in a dimly lit bar, sipping a martini, and at a moment of rest and quiet power. This narrative deeply informed the aesthetic direction of my design.
